A Filipino menu switcheroo has taken pace in the northwest, with Big Braddah's BBQ and their well-known local food truck Da Pineapple Express taking over the bricks-and-mortar former home of Baba’s Tsi-bugan Restaurant.
While Baba’s served a Filipino fusion menu, Da Pineapple Express is promising thier Filipino and Hawaiian dishes will cut out the "fancy" and concentrate on "onolicious" island favorites.
The small space filled with Aloha spirit features dishes like a "house bento" created with Kalbi ribs, chicken katsu, spam, a Redondo red hot and shrimp tempura, plus choices like Hawaiian fried rice with Portuguese sausage, saimin, a $9.95 plate of Loco Moco or teriyaki beef, sauteed mahi mahi, plus all day servings of tapsilog, longsilog and tocilog.
