Ever since the revelation they were expanding to Las Vegas, Pollo Campero has been fielding social media queries asking when the "world’s largest Latin chicken chain" will finally arrive.

Now promising to be serving "very soon," the first of two announced local outposts begins hiring later this week and is expected to debut in early March on W. Craig Road.

Featuring a drive-thru, the fast-casual spot replaces a shuttered Long John Silver’s and A&W drive-thru building at the Revere Market Place, close to Las Pupusas Mexican Restaurant, Que Mas Mexican Cafe and the Carniceria Guadalajara Market.

A second location is being built from scratch at 4530 E. Charleston Blvd., close to Arden Street and across from the Charleston Swapmeet.

Pollo Campero’s specialty is a marinated, hand-breaded chicken, flavored with a "proprietary blend of Latin herbs and spices." Also on the menu, boneless chicken bites known as "Camperitos," empanadas and bowls, plantains, yuca fries, rice and beans and for dessert, flan and "4 Leches."

The employment application indicates a daily opening schedule between the hours of 8 a.m. and 11 p.m.
