Chicago’s infamous hot dog stand The Wiener's Circle has finally pulled out of Las Vegas. Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa has shuttered the casual spot located next to the sports book, but is well on the way to replacing it with the Gridiron Grill. The resort began hiring for the new concept earlier this month.
The Wiener's Circle remains one of Chicago’s most controversial landmarks, known equally well for the staged abuse and insults encouraged between staff and customers, as its "Chicago Char Cheddar dogs." The Las Vegas import made sure to banish any traces of the usual R-rated language that rains down on unsuspecting customers and early plans to fly-in some of the more talented Chicago wits were also quickly abandoned.
The hot dog spot replaced another well-known wiener specialist in June 2014, when Block 16 Hospitality shuttered both Pink’s and the neighboring LBS: A Burger Joint. The Wiener’s Circle also briefly expanded to the Santa Fe Station, before shuttering in 2015.
Once the Gridiron Grill debuts, expect a broader selection of fast casual choices, including burgers, sandwiches, chips and dips, and stacked fries, plus their own, in-house hot dog creations.
