Lo-Lo’s Chicken N Waffles at 2040 N. Rainbow Blvd. was shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District after a re-inspection on Tuesday, Feb. 21.

SNHD inspectors issued 29 demerits for spoiled food, staff not properly washing their hands, potentially hazardous food cooled improperly and held at the wrong temperature, food unprotected from potential contamination and more.

SNHD initially inspected the restaurant on Jan. 25, giving the restaurant a 28-demerit C grade. An inspection on Feb. 17, 2016, resulted in a B grade, followed by an A grade on March 8.

The health district conducts unannounced inspections at least once a year. Inspections are posted online about five days after the inspection. The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
