A highlight of an ongoing series of revitalizations at the 45-year-old downtown resort, within days The Plaza will unveil Brightside – Breakfast and Burgers, replacing the long-shuttered Island Sushi & Hawaiian Grill.
With enough room for 100 guests, work appears almost complete on their version of a "New York style deli," featuring booth seating by the walls and stools facing the main kitchen counter.
Operated by the Plaza and promised to begin serving on March 3, the deli sits on the casino floor, adjacent to another hearty dining option, Hash House A Go Go.

On the menu, look for "made-to-order sandwiches, burgers, and salads," bottled beer and wine, plus pastries and a "variety of freshly brewed and specialty coffees." A "grab and go" selection is also being created.
Breakfast choices will include "fried eggs and eggs benedict, toast topped with tomato, goat cheese, and basil, in-house smoked salmon and bagels, matzo ball soup, artisan paninis and ahi tuna salad."
Brightside will be open daily from 7 a.m. to midnight and keep serving until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
