An Asian Restaurant Closes at Downtown Summerlin

Rice Republic, the Chinese restaurant at Downtown Summerelin, closed. The sister restaurant of Rice & Co. at the Luxor served dishes from Taiwan, Hong Kong and China with a menu featuring dumplings, noodle soups and dishes, fried rice and at one time, dim sum carts.

The space, which evoked a “lively restaurant in Taipei,” sits near Grape Street Cafe & Wine Bar at the massive outdoor shopping center and originally opened in December 2014.

At one time, the restaurant planned to open at the Galleria at Sunset as well as the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort. Neither of those restaurants opened.

Rice & Co. at the Luxor, which has been serving since 2011, features a sushi bar along with a twist on Japanese and Chinese cuisine.
