The most-anticipated Las Vegas restaurant set to debut this spring has an official opening date. Top Chef Masters’ chef Lorena Garcia and John Kunkel's 50 Eggs Inc. are transforming the former DB Brasserie space at the Venetian into Chica, launching with a grand opening on Sunday, May 14.

Set to be open daily for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch, the 9,395-square-foot space allocated an estimated $3,755,000 for construction costs alone. It sits next door to Kunkel's earlier Las Vegas success, Yardbird Southern Table & Bar.

The Latin American cuisine — inspired by Venezuela, Peru, Brazil, Mexico and Argentina — will be watched over by chef Mike Minor, formerly of Border Grill and his Truck-U Barbeque food truck, alongside chef Donna Willey of Canonita, a close neighbor at the resort. The restaurant is currently interviewing applicants for all other positions.
