Say so long to Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s eponymous steakhouse at Aria. Jean Georges Steahouse closes May 29 and re-opens in early July after a renovation.
No details about the renovations were revealed but presumably the porterhouses, rib-eye steaks and bone-in dry-aged New York strips cooked over mesquite, apricot and pear woods remain. But the “whimsical” silhouettes of a cow’s nose, leather cattle marking tabs that hang from the chandeliers and crystal drops of milk hanging around the bar may be no more.
Bardot Brasserie, Carbone and Sage plan to offer fare from the Jean-Georges’ menu during the makeover.
For those with an MGM Resorts scorecard, this marks the third switchup of the year. Japonais converts into Otoro Robata Grill & Sushi on May 1 at the Mirage. Brand Steakhouse closes May 11 at the Monte Carlo. No word yet on what that will become, but presumably that change is in anticipation of NoMad and Eataly opening at the renamed Park in 2018.
In other renovation news, Luke’s Lobster at the front of Fashion Show closes March 26 for some tweeking.
