A familiar sight at local farmers' markets and pop-up special events around the region, Chess House Café has finally achieved its long announced dream of upgrading to a bricks and mortar location.

The café is headed to north Las Vegas and the Lake Mead Promenade, close to the intersection of Lake Mead Boulevard and Torrey Pines Drive. The former site of a Starbucks, Chess House will also take over the operation of the drive-thru.

On the menu, organic coffee from locals Desert Wind Coffee Roasters, "exotic teas," iced drinks like Red Bull infused strawberry, blueberry and raspberry options and their own creation of "Southern lemonade." Light meals will include wraps, salads, paninis, grilled cheese, hummus and pita chips, cake slices, donuts, cookies, bagels and oatmeal.

An opening date or operating hours have yet to be announced, but the team promises to "stimulate your palate" very soon.
