Once hoped to debut this month, unusual concept Boteco has officially posted a revised opening date for its arrival on Eastern Avenue.

Created by chef Rachel LeGloahec, a veteran of both Joël Robuchon and L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon at the MGM Grand, Boteco will not "be a bar, a pub, nor a restaurant," but is inspired by international botecos, bodegas and botequins, serving shareable plates at affordable prices.

Slotting into the shuttered Mise en Place cooking school at the Sansone Park Place retail center, close to Nielsens Frozen Custard and Soulfish Poke, Boteco is now scheduled to open on May 12, featuring an open kitchen and the option of indoor or outdoor patio seating.

Posted opening hours will be Wednesday to Saturday from 4 to 10:30 p.m. and an all-day Sunday brunch will be served from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., featuring dishes like $12 "Kentucky hot browns," a $12 beluga crab Benedict, $10 champagne pancakes and the "Boteco pockets," prosciutto and mozzarella wrapped in light dough.

On the dinner menu, choices like the $12 escargot croquetas, $14 black garlic hummus, the $11 "Boteco poutine," made with braised beef and IPA gravy and a $6 salted caramel budino.

LeGloahec also plans to create a tasting menu on the last Friday of every month, with the $85 price covering all courses and wine pairings.
