Fourteen months after this taco restaurant first revealed that it was headed downtown, Tacos Huevos has announced an opening date on Charleston Boulevard.
Promising a "unique take on Mexican quick-serve," the concept attached to the Urban Lounge will debut on June 3, serving "breakfast, brunch and ‘brinner.’"
Created by California-based restaurateur Chris Pike, the original plan was for Tacos Huevos to occupy the Corner Building on Main Street, with a smaller version of the Urban Lounge as its next door neighbor. Both concepts very quickly jumped ship when the roomier and higher profile corner space at the Arts Factory became available, following a swift departure by the Downtown Crown British pub.
Last year, the taquéria announced it expected to be serving from 6 a.m. to 3 a.m. While new opening hours have yet to be confirmed, incoming staff will be working shifts from 5 a.m to 3.30 a.m.
Future guests can look forward to tacos, burritos, an open kitchen, an outdoor patio and a "beer/margarita bar."
