International and Strip inspirations meet an off-Strip ambiance

If you are looking for the next breakout restaurant to arrive off-Strip, Boteco debuts today on Eastern Avenue. Serving shareable plates at affordable prices, the concept prefers to not be known as "a bar, a pub, nor a restaurant," but is inspired by international botecos, bodegas and botequins.

Created by a veteran of both Joël Robuchon and L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon at the MGM Grand, chef Rachel LeGloahec’s creations feature one tangible tribute to her past, with the addition of the famed "Robuchon mashed potatoes" recipe to the menu.

Operated by Marcus Fortunato, who ran the Mise en Place cooking school in the same space, Boteco will also feature a patio at the Sansone Park Place retail center, close to Nielsens Frozen Custard and Soulfish Poke.

Inside, look up for the custom made chandeliers, each created from 40 bottles of champagnes and red and white wines. Boteco has partnered with vineyards and local distributors to feature their wares in regularly scheduled tasting menus in the months ahead.

Opening hours will be Wednesday to Saturday from 4 to 10 p.m. and an all-day Sunday brunch will be served from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring dishes like a $14 Foie Gras Benedict, $12 champagne pancakes and the $15 Boteco oysters.
