The major upgrades to The Orleans dining scene continue with the French Market Buffet currently closed for an unspecified time while it remodels.
Customers are being directed across the hall, where they will only be serving breakfast and lunch. Current opening hours are listed as 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily, with all sittings priced at $11.99.
The all-you-can-eat buffet offered "Italian, Mongolian, barbecue, American, seafood, Mexican and Chinese" options at familiar Boyd Gaming discounted prices. Debuting in 1996 when The Orleans first opened its doors, the original incarnation seated 344.
Its Bourbon Street-inspired interior design has slowly been phased-out across the resort and the resort’s recent multi-million dollar dining shuffles include the addition of the Bailiwick gastropub, the Copper Whisk Café, a 24-hour replacement for the Courtyard Cafe, plus Ondori Asian Kitchen and the Alder & Birch steakhouse.
Longtime locals favorite The Prime Rib Loft also received an interior refresh, leaving the possibility Big Al's Oyster Bar, the remaining old-school hold-out, might be next in line for a new look.
