Located between the Red Rock Resort and Downtown Summerlin, the Vegas Golden Knights hockey franchise is building a vast 146,000-square-foot practice facility, the largest sized amenity for any team in the National Hockey League. Now comes confirmation they want to lure fans and the curious to share in the experience over a beer and a meal.
Originally imagined as a 9,000-square-foot restaurant with a center bar and views looking down on the the two hockey rinks, work will soon begin on creating a yet-to-be announced 6,591-square-foot restaurant. Newly filed paperwork does not reveal the exact current location and names the concept as the GRG Restaurant.
Set to be built by Gillet Construction, which is also working on the practice facility itself, $1,125,361 has been allocated for the estimated construction costs. Gillet has previously been attached to familiar local names like the Oyster Bar at The Orleans, Bravo! Cucina Italiana at the Galleria Mall and the buffet and Simon Restaurant at the Palms.
A new RTC transit shelter is also under construction to provide direct access to the facility’s front entrance on South Pavilion Center Drive.
The team is pushing for the building to be finished in time for the “start of the Golden Knights' training camp this September.”
