Top Chef Masters’ chef Lorena Garcia and John Kunkel's 50 Eggs Inc. will unveil their latest creation in less than 10 days at the Venetian, with the celebrity chef launching the grand opening of Chica on Mother's Day.
Taking over the shuttered DB Brasserie space, right door to Kunkel's other Las Vegas venture Yardbird Southern Table & Bar, the 9,395-square-foot space will serve Latin American cuisine inspired by dishes from Venezuela, Peru, Brazil, Mexico and Argentina.
Currently not taking reservations for the May 14 opening, Chica will be open for lunch during starting May 15 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and switching over to "supper" from 4 to 11 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday, Chica will switch into brunch mode from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Joining Garcia will be an expert on the local brunch scene, chef Mike Minor, formerly of Border Grill.
Already previewed for the menu, shrimp and quinoa cazuela, chile tempura jumbo shrimp, crispy pancetta and poached eggs, "mac con queso" with Peruvian corn, plus their spin on a breakfast burrito and huevos rancheros for the brunch menu.
