There may be dozens of locations in Las Vegas to buy a Starbucks Frappuccino, but until now, there has been no dedicated coffee shop devoted solely to serving Peet's Coffee & Tea.
The Emeryville, California-based coffee roaster will fix that later this year, when it takes over a corner space and patio in Summerlin, at the corner of Town Center Drive and the 215. The Discovery Drive building is already home to fitness center Power Hour 360 and sits close to the Element Las Vegas Summerlin hotel and Due Forni Pizza & Wine.
Full details on the coffee bar have yet to be announced, but they commonly feature the full line of coffee and tea choices, cold brew options, plus “local artisan baked goods, healthy whole-grain simply oatmeal, and fresh grab and go sandwiches, salads and snacks.”
In 2015, the nationwide brand purchased a majority stake in Chicago-based Intelligentsia Coffee & Tea and also bought out Portland, Oregon's Stumptown Coffee.
Joining Peet’s will be Block 9 Thai Street Eats, taking over a 2,012-square-foot vacant space facing the surrounding bike trail. While details on this venture are also still under wraps, chef Nittaya Parawong of local favorite Nittaya's Secret Kitchen posted a note to her company's Facebook page, promising Block 9 will be “coming soon.” The two Summerlin Thai restaurants will be located seven miles from each other.
