VegeWay’s pioneering mission to serve “plant-based fast food” has some new competition from the forthcoming Veggy Street, a self-described “plant-based fast food eatery.”
Encouraging future guests to “stay human,” the concept is headed into a 1,316-square-foot space at Spring Valley’s Fort Apache Plaza, close to Streets of New York pizza and Squeeze In, at the intersection of Fort Apache Road and Reno Avenue.
Behind the project is local Jorge Melatti, who describes the casual restaurant as seeking “out a new global culture where current and emerging businesses and activists support healthier lifestyles, and all individuals understand their effects on the environment by their ways of living.” It is also planned to be open for “breakfast, lunch and coffee.”
On the promised menu, vegan spins on burgers, hot dogs and falafel, organic coffees and matcha hot tea, banana tapioca desserts, plus lime or “apple crushed” drinks.
Veggy Street aims to debut this summer.
