With a San Diego pedigree, 595 Craft & Kitchen has opened inside the former home of Elements Kitchen & Martini Bar, debuting a "gastropub-style” experience in Spring Valley.

Owners Chris Holding and Van-Alan Nguyen’s declared mission was to create “a warm and welcoming place for beer nerds, familiar neighbors, curious customers, or just someone who happened to be in the area searching for a great meal and a cheap pint.”

The corner plot at the intersection of Rainbow Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue features a 300-pound cast iron bar equipped with 24 tap handles, an amber lighting glow, plenty of weathered wood design accents and a no gambling or smoking policy.

Those self-described “beer nerds” can check out the very latest inventory via the Taphunter website, currently favoring California and Nevada breweries.

On the menu, snacks like the $5 "craft popcorn of the day," $9 fried deviled eggs, beer brined chicken wings and warm burrata with ginger apricot chutney. The vermicelli noodle soup and “Chris's BAD ASS chilli” join a selection of salads.

Burgers and sandwiches include a $13 pork belly, the $9 "signature banh mi," plus four poutine creations, from traditional, to beer cheese or the $14 "loco moco"

Sweet selections are all priced $6, including the “Craft bread pudding of the day,” “ice box buttermilk cheesecake” and a chocolate olive oil budino.
