If you’ve a hankering to meet and greet Austin Russell, better known as Chumlee from the History Channel's hit TV show Pawn Stars, you now know where to find him.
Newly opened at the Pawn Plaza, across the parking lot from Rick Harrison’s Gold & Silver Pawn Shop that launched the crew to stardom, Chumlee's Candy on the Boulevard is welcoming guests from noon to 8 p.m., Wednesday to Sunday.
The compact space takes over the shuttered Pawn Donut & Coffee space, so don’t be surprised to see a line of fans outside, as the store can only accommodate about a dozen customers at a time. Once inside, customers choose from a "sea of salt water taffy" as Chum calls it, an array of bulk candy, vintage favorites like Abba-Zaba and Pez, souvenir key chains, plus a wide variety of Jones Sodas.
The candy shop also sells the ”Old Man’s Special brew” ground coffee, created and packaged by Nevada’s Colorado River Coffee Roasters in Boulder City, featuring “chocolate, light citrus, caramel and hazelnut” flavor notes.
Operated by Russell and his 21-year-old brother Sage, who will be behind the counter during opening hours, Chumlee is currently planning to be at the store “most days” from noon to 4 or 5 p.m., subject to other commitments.
