Less than one year after opening in Henderson, Kerry Simon’s final restaurant closed its doors. Standard & Pour, which served dinner and a weekend brunch and carried on the legacy of the chef, shuttered unexpectedly on Sunday.
“Standard & Pour has closed, effective immediately. The restaurant partners would like to thank their customers for their patronage and look forward to seeing them at one of their other locations throughout the Las Vegas Valley,” reads a statement the restaurant sent to the media. The Simon legacy carries on at Carson Kitchen in downtown Las Vegas.
Standard & Pour combined Simon Hospitality Group and Titan Brands (of Slice of Vegas and Hussong’s Cantina fame) with this gastropub, filling 4,732 square feet in the Terraza D' Alessio Plaza at the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Pecos Ridge Parkway, behind the new Kneaders Bakery and directly above The 052 bar and restaurant. It filled in the former home of Firefly.
Chefs Cory Harwell and John Courtney created the menu with Jake Dieleman, formerly the executive sous chef of Carson Kitchen, taking over the executive chef duties here.
Chef Kerry Simon passed away in 2015 after complications related to a severe and rare form of Parkinson's disease called MSA, multiple system atrophy.
