Last seen at the much missed Inyo Asian Variety Restaurant in Chinatown, chef Gregg Fortunato has reappeared downtown, creating the new menu for the replacement for Glutton. Chef Bradley Manchester’s restaurant shuttered last December and will be filled by 7th & Carson.
Located exactly where the name says, the self-described “nice little drinking spot w/really great food,” is aiming for a July debut. The venture has been created by the Dwyer family’s Gibraltar Hospitality Services, featuring Liam Dwyer, a former director of operations at Light Group and a co-operator of the Pacha Macau nightclub.
Fortunato’s resume includes Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Little Buddha at the Palms and Buddha Bar in Washington D.C.
Already promised for his American bistro-style menu, "oven” dishes like braised oxtail or white truffle toast and lamb sausage flatbread, "garden” options of “heirloom popcorn” and wood-fired asparagus, "land” choices like duckling pot pies and the extra crispy “C.F.C.” or “Carson Fried Chicken,” plus "sea" selections including oysters and oven-baked clams.
Initial opening hours will be from 5 p.m. to midnight, Thursday to Monday. Open Table has reservations available on Friday.
