Enduring delays normally encountered by a major project on the Strip, the Top Shelf Tavern is at last headed towards construction at the intersection of Fort Apache Road and Huntington Cove Parkway.
The gaming tavern was first proposed in late 2014, then imagined to be an expansion for the Putter's Bar & Grill chain and planned to sit next to a new retail building and drive-thru fast food concept on the same vacant pad.
Over the years, developers Top Shelf have worked with the surrounding and very vocal community to tweak the plans and ward off local concerns about bringing a tavern to the west of the Rhodes Ranch neighborhood, an area yet to be saturated with gaming and drinking options.
On the latest agenda, the Top Shelf Tavern will be a built from scratch 4,461-square-foot, single story building, featuring enough room for potential maximum occupancy of 354. For construction costs alone, an estimated budget of $1,002,000 has been allocated. A projected opening date has yet to be announced.
