A California success story has quietly expanded to Chinatown. Ding's Garden have brought some authentic Shanghai dishes to the Spring Mountain Center, close to Fuku Burger and across Jones Boulevard from Chada Thai and District One.

Created in 1999 by Simon Yu and the namesake Florence Ding, the restaurant has grown to three outposts in Irvine, Arcadia and Rowland Heights, California.

In Las Vegas, the casual and already busy location takes over the former home of Pho Sing Sing. Along with many of its original recipes, it is also letting guests take home 50 piece packs of frozen favorites, including shrimp wonton and frozen pork or Shanghai soup dumplings, priced between $16.50 and $20.50.

On the large menu, cold plate specials like bean curd, pig's ear and beef tripe for $9.25, plus choices like stinky tofu, shredded seaweed, braised beef tendon, “Grandmother's Drunken Fish” and a whole, salted or Shanghai-style braised duck for $21.95.

Soup or “dry” noodles range in price from $7.95 to $9.75 and guests can also opt for the $7.50 “seaweed egg flower soup."
