Endless proteins come to an end on Aug. 31 when Samba Brazilian Steakhouse at the Mirage closes for good. A spokesperson for the resort promises that an unnamed replacement restaurant will arrive by the end of 2017.
The rodizio steakhouse takes its name from the fast-paced Brazilian dance. The churrasco delivers marinated and fire-roasted meats carved table side in a Brazilian rainforest setting. Picanha Angus beef, slow-cooked Portuguese sausage, roast pork loin and lamb chamuscado are among the dishes served here. Black beans and rice, vegetables and sweet fried plantains come to the table family style. Naturally, caipirihas, sangria and mojitos make up a portion of the drinks menu. It first opened as Samba Grill when the Mirage debuted in 1998.
In May, the Mirage converted Japonais, the sushi restaurant and teppan grill, into Otoro Robata Grill & Sushi. Earlier, The Still took over the former Revolution space at the resort.
