Work is underway to convert the former LAX nightclub at the Luxor into a huge Esports Arena and the operators plan to make sure its specialist customer base will be well fed and watered during long sessions watching fellow gamers compete.
A joint enterprise by MGM Resorts International, Allied eSports and eSports Arena, the demolition phase has been scheduled inside the 30,00-square-foot, two- floor space, with an initial estimated construction budget of $368,000.
Partnered on the interior makeover are locals YWS Design & Architecture, well known for their work on Topgolf Las Vegas, Hakkasan and Fiamma at the MGM Grand and Bardot Brasserie at Aria.

Niklas Rytterstrom, general manager of the Luxor, updated the project details with Venues Today magazine, explaining the arena will feature a “competition stage, LED video wall, individual gaming stations, merchandise and a television-quality production studio,” with enough room to host between 1,000 and 1,200 cheering guests.
Rytterstrom also revealed the formerly announced “robust food and beverage offering” will be upgraded to “two bars, as well as a fast-casual restaurant,” open seven days a week.
The Esports Arena is officially pushing for debut during the first quarter of 2018.
