Masala Cuisine of India to Join Tacos El Gordo

Tacos El Gordo will be upgrading to a new home on the Strip later this year and will be joined by another well-known local company, serving a spin on casual Indian dishes.

Masala Cuisine of India will take over 1,125-square-foot of already vacant building at 3041 Las Vegas Blvd. S., a sibling to the counter service India Masala, located at Fashion Show mall less than a mile to the south. The new location is also less than a third of a mile from India Masala’s original 24-hour home, inside the now demolished Riviera Hotel & Casino.

Operated by the Royal Group, which locally runs Royal India Bistro at the Rio and India Masala Bar & Grill on Flamingo Road, this new expansion can only fit a maximum of 33 inside the compact space. It is expected to feature a similar menu found at Fashion Show, including samosas and pakoras, curries served with naan and rice, chicken tandoori choices, and perhaps Southern Indian dishes including dosas.

Tacos El Gordo will take over neighboring suites 2 and 3, filling 3,558 square feet and also add a bar, a much needed upgrade from its current site at a rival retail center, a very short walk to the south.

No timetable for completion for either project, or a date for the closing of the current Tacos El Gordo has been revealed.
