Before opening day, Boss’s Slow Smoked BBQ operated a temporary food stand right outside its front entrance, but now inside, the restaurant is still proudly proclaiming that it serves the "best slow smoked BBQ in Vegas."

Located at the Sunset Ridge Plaza retail center, close to the intersection of Green Valley Parkway and Sunset Road, its early days proved so popular that the food stand ran out of food before closing time.

Wishing guests “a positive day,” the casual spot serves food fast but cooked slow. In addition to the namesake meat roster, an expanding selection of choices, including catfish nuggets, a side and a drink for $9.99.

On the menu, meat lovers can opt for pulled pork, brisket, four hot links and on Tuesday only, tri-tip. Sandwiches include the $6 chicken breast, or the $5 leg and pulled chicken and house specials range from $9 pulled pork nachos and a $12 whole chicken, to ribs priced between $8 for a quarter slab, up to $25 for a full slab serving.

Salads are available, plus sides like baked beans, collard greens and “Mama's Mac & Cheese.” The $27.99 “Boss Platter” serves two and arrives with a pulled pork sandwich, half slab of ribs, a chicken leg quarter, a hot link, two sides and two drinks. And if diners have room, for dessert the $3.99 options are banana pudding, peach cobbler and chocolate cake.
