An icy beach now cools visitors off at the third location of Minus5 Ice Experience in Las Vegas. The Grand Canal Shoppes now hosts a surf shack made of Canadian ice within a 1,500 square-foot space. More than 100 tons of ice was used to created the icy confines kept at negative five degrees Celsius. Outside, customers can find a 1,500-square-foot walk-up warm bar.
Everything inside the cold room — the walls, benches, sculptures and chandeliers — is made from ice. Even the glasses.
Blue Chair Bay Rum created by country singer Kenny Chesney teamed up with the bar to create a one-of-a-kind Surf Shack, made completely of ice. Palm trees, beach chairs, surf boards and more deck out the space. Customers can ride the ice wave and sit on the oversized Adirondack chair. Of course, cocktails using Blue Chair Bay Rum come served in coconut-style ice glasses.
Another section of the bar features an ode to vintage Vegas with an ice-made electric chair, police line-up wall and figures inspired by Sin City icons such as Rat Pack performers and showgirls.
Other sculptures in the attraction pay tribute to Joshua Tree and Arches National Parks, the gondola rides at the Venetian and the historic “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign.
The first 50 people to enter the new location get in for free today.
Minus5 also has locations at the Monte Carlo and Mandalay Place.
