Could This Be The Next Novelty Food Trend in Las Vegas?

First Jaburritos introduced Las Vegas to the sushi burrito. Now the restaurant with two locations debuts its latest concoction, sushi cupcakes, in three flavors.

All three come on a bed of rice nestled inside a baked wonton, which creates the cupcake shape. Sushi cupcake flavors include spicy surimi crab with guacamole and cream cheese, garnished with togarashi; spicy tuna with spicy mayo and eel sauce, garnished with cucumber and crispy garlic; and smoked salmon with red onion, dill and cream cheese, garnished with dill and masago.

Customers can nab these three flavors in a box that contains four cupcakes — two spicy tuna, one smoked salmon and one spicy surimi crab — for $12.

Jaburritos also features salads, rice bowls, nachos and juices made to order. Sushi burritos come wrapped in options such as seaweed paper or a tortilla, Jachos, built over corn or taro chips, or a Jabowl, featuring salad or rice. Individual proteins include spicy tuna, grilled steak, tofu, salmon and soft shell crab, or diners can opt for the "chef creations" combinations.
