Even more changes to the Boulevard Mall are on the horizon. Last month saw the shuttering of Olivia’s Mexican Restaurant & Bar and the Hatari Restaurant & Sports Bar at the 49-year old Maryland Parkway institution, followed quickly by news that local chain ChiAm would be read to serve by the end of summer.
Now comes early word that privately owned movie theater chain Galaxy Theatres intends to build its fifth Nevada location inside the mall. The 53,425-square-foot project, billed as a "luxury theatre experience" will feature a proposed bar at the front entrance and include "premium food" and reclining chairs as additional upgrades.
Galaxy Theatres can already be found in North Las Vegas, Henderson, Carson City and Sparks, Nevada. An estimated opening date has yet to be revealed.
ChiAm is working on its second local, 3,543-square-foot casual restaurant, built around a Chinese and American fusion menu featuring dim sum selections including pork soup dumpling, chicken siu mai, “bbq pork bun” and “pan fried chive dumplings.”
