Diners can now get ready to dine in total darkness, surrounded by staff wearing night vision goggles as they eat a savory, spicy, or sweet menu they’ll never actually see.
Blackout “Dining in the Dark” is now open on the westside, inside a 3,428-square-foot corner property, close to the Gold Coast, Rio and Palms resorts at the intersection of Viking Road and Valley View Boulevard.
Creators Rachel and Avi Levi are promising, “when the sense of touch, hearing, taste and smell are heightened, food, drinks and dinner conversation become a brand new adventure.”
The experience begins with customers dropping off all “cell phones, watches, lighters, and cameras” into a “secure locker” and then selecting one of the three menus before they are escorted into the pitch black dining room.
Dinner is priced at $64.95 after 4 p.m. for a six-course meal that can last up to 90 minutes, and before 4 p.m., the restaurant offers a $44.95, four-course, prix fixe meal. Drinks and cocktails are priced separately and can be ordered while inside the darkened dining room.
