Years in the making, Sambalatte Torrefazione has long been pushing for a downtown home and now has a confirmed and under construction location. Previously tipped for space at the Soho Lofts and along Main Street, Sambalatte will expand into the shuttered Cafelatte spot on the ground floor of the Molasky Corporate Center.
Located on the corner of City Parkway and Ogden Avenue, the coffee shop will join Jason’s Deli, whose large sign on the side of the building is very familiar to motorists headed downtown. While the deli features an outdoor patio, Sambalatte will sit inside and is already expanding the footprint, knocking down the eastern wall.
According to the property owners, a live “green wall” will be “installed in the hallway directly across from the café” and will be in place by the end of August, while the café is hoping to up and running shortly after Labor Day. The building will provide free parking for visitors, but will be a difficult destination for pedestrians looking for a quality cup of coffee.
Once opened, this will be the local brand’s fourth Las Vegas home, building on its Boca Park original, a Spring Valley outpost and on the Strip, at the front entrance to the Monte Carlo resort. The future of the resort location has yet to be determined, as it sits right in the middle of the future 40,000-square-foot Eataly. Which upmarket coffee vendor will ultimately be serving inside Eataly has yet to be revealed.
