That didn’t last long. Mike Minor, the executive chef at Lorena Garcia’s Chica at the Venetian, bows out to return to his Border Grill roots. The Review-Journal reports that the long-time chef at Border Grill makes his debut in the kitchen on Sept. 18.
Minor left the Two Hot Tamales Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger in 2014 to open Truck U Barbeque, his Mexican take on barbecue fare. Then he planned to open Bandito Latin Kitchen & Cantina with former Border Grill GM Kent Harman. But before that eastside restaurant could open, Minor took the gig with Chica, the second restaurant from John Kunkel’s 50 Eggs. Chica opened in May.
