When Henderson's Bad Owl Coffee debuted in early 2016, the long lines out the door were filled with fans of the Harry Potter saga, eager for a first taste of the lavender lattes inside the wizard-themed coffee shop. More than a year later, Bad Owl has dialed back on explicitly promoting the unofficial theme, but hardcore Potter-maniacs will still appreciate the subtle touches and design nods to the series.
Now comes very early word fans won’t always have to trek to the Eastern Commons Retail Center on Eastern Avenue for a "butter beer latte" tribute, currently re-branded as “ButterBrew.”
Bad Owl Coffee is expanding to the southwest and a yet-to-be-built retail center at the intersection of Santoli Avenue and Rainbow Boulevard, sharing the building with a dental services office. Construction should begin later this month, with an estimated opening date yet to be announced.
In addition to a broad range of coffees and teas, Bad Owl also serves sandwiches, wraps, waffles, wine and craft beers in a setting featuring clever props and Instagram-worthy signs and custom etched tables.
