A Willy Wonka-sized confection war on opposite sides of the Strip later this year launches when the already revealed Sloan's Ice Cream at the Venetian’s Grand Canal Shoppes competes with newcomer Lolli & Pops at the Fashion Show mall.
Created in 2012 in San Francisco, Lolli & Pops’s upscale brand is self-described as a “premium purveyor of candies and confections” and has rapidly expanded to a nationwide reach of 38 sweet shops inside upmarket retail centers.
In Las Vegas, the store will take over a 2,200-square-foot section of a former Bebe boutique and an estimated $250,000 has been allocated for construction costs.
Once inside, future customers will be greeted by “magic makers,” their customer-service focused staffers and an ornate design scheme that extents to the high-quality gift boxes and packaging.
Previous stores have included cupcakes, champagne truffles, “chocolate bbq potato chips,” marzipan, "fancy sea salt caramels" rice crispy cakes, “peanut butter smoothies,” the company's own line of chocolate bars, imported global brands and a “gummy bear bar” featuring more than 15 flavors to buy in bulk.
Yet to be officially announced, an estimated opening date has yet to be revealed.
