Don’t worry, the famous Jerry’s Nugget 24-hour coffee shop and pies and cakes aren’t going anywhere, but after a dozen years of service right next door, Uncle Angelo’s Pizza Joint closed to make way for a new concept. Uncle Angelo's Bakery had already been renamed and returned to serving as Jerry’s Nugget Bakery.
The replacement, Contento Pizzeria & Bar, is officially aiming for an October debut. Based around a menu of “single-serving gourmet pizza,” the restaurant will feature full-service dining, now hiring hosts and hostesses and behind-the-scenes sous chefs and cooks also comfortable with a grill and pasta creations.
Bartenders are also being scouted and uncommon for a pizzeria, dedicated "upbeat baristas" to create beverages for dining guests and to-go orders.
Despite the name, Uncle Angelo’s Pizza Joint offered a substantial family-friendly dining room and a full menu that promoted its T-bone steak, chicken Milano and “Italian Cheeseburger,” alongside pizza, pasta, calzones and stromboli.
The dining switcheroo is part of an indoor and out series of refurbishments that the property has informed the North Las Vegas Redevelopment Agency is estimated to cost $740,000.
