One of the best bars in Las Vegas strikes out to open a new steakhouse along Restaurant Row on the east side of Las Vegas. Nectaly Mendoza of Herbs & Rye fame plans to open Cleaver Butchered Meats, Seafood & Cocktails in the former Toscano Italian Steakhouse/Kelly’s Steakhouse/Ruth’s Chris space near Urban Turban, according to Vegas Seven. Toscano from Lake Las Vegas’ Luna Rossa owners closed last year in January.
Herbs & Rye already has a steakhouse vibe on Sahara Avenue, but with Cleaver, Mendoza plans to butcher Angus beef in house and pair red meat and seafood dishes with his classic cocktails. So maybe consider this Herbs & Rye 2.0.
The space features room for 300 customers between several dining rooms, a large horseshoe bar and a private dining room. Look for a late winter or early spring arrival.
