Trying to keep it both “on the DL,” but also too excited to not share the news, the “100 percent plant-based” menu of downtown’s VegeNation has quietly opened its Henderson expansion, ahead of an official, extended hours debut.
During the first week of service opening hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Stonehill Marketplace, close to the intersection of St. Rose Parkway and Eastern Avenue with breakfast coming later.
The 2,353-square-foot corner space features an easy to spot curved exterior, formerly home to the Daily Kitchen & Wellness Bar. An outdoor patio is already being put to use.
Inside, Vegenation added a “living wall” built by downtown’s Gaia Flowers, Plants & Gifts, a “community partner wall” listing all the local business the restaurant works with, plus artwork by local artists.
Launched by chef Donald Lemperle on Carson Avenue in 2015, the self-described menu selections range from “pizza, Pho-King Delicious Asian street foods, fruit loop salad, to the original VegeNation Superfood Burger and the ultimate hang over smoothie.”
