Just when the Las Vegas burger wars seemed to down, yet another upscale casual concept heads to Las Vegas.

Proudly boasting they've been preaching the gospel of “Burgers, Bacon & Beer” since 2009, the seven-location California chain Slater’s 50/50 makes the expansion to Las Vegas to convert new “disciples.”

The brainchild of Scott Slater, the “Baron of Bacon,” a burger patty created with half ground beef and half ground bacon forms the foundation of the menu.

Earlier this month, Los Angeles-based Elite Restaurant Group bought out the company and is rapidly capitalizing on its franchise options. A Las Vegas expansion is reportedly already signed and in the works, aiming for an “early 2018” debut. Elite’s owner Michael Nakleh is a former Fatburger franchise owner, a brand with three existing Las Vegas outposts.

While an exact locale has not been announced, customers will be able to further customize their burgers next year with turkey, “Durham Ranch bison” or make it “Sriracha spiced.” Bread choices include Udi's gluten-free, honey wheat and lettuce wrapped and the creations can be topped with “roasted green chiles,” “fritos,” “avocado mash,” “cola-braised pork shoulder” and “jalapeno bacon jam.”

The restaurant also offers wings, chicken sandwiches, salads, fries with bacon catsup and "frickles," their “panko-breaded pickles with honey mustard.”
