UNLVino returns for the 44th year with a one-night blowout event at the Keep Memory Alive Event Center at the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health near Symphony Park. Wineries, spirits purveyors, champagne, Asian fare, sakes, craft beers, and a lineup of local chefs and restaurants fill the event on Saturday, April 14, from 7 to 10 p.m.
At the heart of the event, a scholarship benefit for students of UNLV’s William F. Harrah College of Hospitality, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. For UNLVino, that means 50 pairings from participants such as chef Scott Conant’s Masso Osteria opening at Red Rock Resort Feb. 12, Sparrow & Wolf, Hearthstone Kitchen & Cellar at Red Rock Resort, Spiedini Ristorante at the JW Marriott, Rick Moonen’s RM Seafood at Mandalay Place, Mitsuo Endo’s Raku and Sweets Raku, Paul Bartolotta’s Ristorante Bartolotta, and T-Bones Chophouse at Red Rock Resort.
The event also pays tribute to Donald Carano, co-founder of Ferrari-Carano Vineyards & Winery and this year’s recipient of the 2018 Dom Pérignon Award of Excellence.
Students enrolled in the credited UNLVino course work alongside the chefs at this event as well.
UNLV alum and Mix 94.1 radio personality JC Fernandez of Mercedes in the Morning hosts the event that includes the grand tasting, champagne and sake pours throughout the evening, and a silent auction.
Tickets to UNLVino cost $150 online and $175 at the door, with early access passes available for $100 through Feb. 28.
