A novelty Italian dessert concept is headed to downtown’s Container Park, bringing a new sweet gimmick to the second floor.
Choco Kebab & Creperie will take over space 2260, sitting a short walk from JinJu Chocolates. The local entrepreneurs have already been testing dishes at the Fantastic Indoor Swapmeet on Decatur Boulevard for the last few months.
Based on traditional, three-layer, Piedmontese cremino chocolate, the set-up is visually similar to gyro or shawarma meat revolving on a vertical rotisserie. The Choco Kebab is shaved and the chocolate curls melt on a warm crepe that acts like a pita.
Diners can add cream, sauces and extra ingredients, like fruit or more candy.
Created by the Techfood bar and food equipment company, the compact and portable machine has made the kebabs a hit at festivals, events, exhibition spaces throughout Europe and with permanent vendors operating inside a limited size footprint.
An estimated open date at the Container Park has yet to be announced.
