Confirmed to be up and running by the end of fall, the first Las Vegas expansion for James Beard Outstanding Restaurateur recipient Tom Douglas is currently hiring and dropping hints of what to expect on the menu.
The second collaboration between the award winning chef and the Nordstrom retail empire, Jeannie’s will replace the 15-year-old former Marketplace Café at the Fashion Show mall.
An estimated construction budget of $2 million was allocated over the summer to create a full-service restaurant described to OpenTable as hosting a “casual yet sophisticated dining room,” designed to offer a “welcoming environment to shoppers, families, or anyone looking to relax and enjoy a delicious meal.”
The Jeannie’s specialty will be “pizza made with hand-crafted dough, blistered to perfection and topped with fresh produce, artisan cheese and charcuterie.” This description almost exactly matches the bio of both locations of Serious Pie, Douglas’ famed Seattle pizza concept that prepares its dishes in a “600 degree stone-encased apple wood burning oven.”
Also on the way, “seasonally influenced appetizers, salads, pastas, and warm sandwiches called ‘toasties.’” A full bar will be installed and gelato will be available for dessert.
Planned opening hours will be 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, closing at 7 p.m. on Sunday.
