Very early word on newly filed paperwork to add two fast casual attractions to the Grand Canal Shoppes, both with loyal out-of-state followings.
Always hoping to expand beyond its current Chinatown and Caesars Palace expansions, The Halal Guys will be moving into the Venetian's Grand Canal Shoppes. The joint project is tied to Southern California’s 7 Leaves Cafe, on target to debut its first local outpost on Spring Mountain Road by the end of the year.
New York City-born, The Halal Guys launched in the Forum Food Court at Caesars Palace almost a year ago, serving a menu of chicken, beef, or falafel gyros, plus hummus, baba ghanoush, fries, and the option of baklava for dessert. The famous “magic” white sauce and optional hot sauce have been an Manhattan food truck obsession since 1990.
7 Leaves Cafe will be ready soon at 3959 Spring Mountain Road, inside the former home of Fat Dumpling. Known informally as the “Asian Starbucks” for its ambitious business plans, the menu includes Vietnamese, house special, and black “sea cream” coffees, plus 12 different teas.
On the Strip, an exact location or projected opening date have yet to be announced, but the current estimated construction budget of $85,000 suggests a a quicker than normal turnaround.
