Short of a two decade anniversary, Fremont East’s Don’t Tell Mama is on the move to a 2,024-square foot new location, easing its way less than a quarter of a mile to the Neonopolis retail and entertainment center.
Since 2009, the Manhattan-style piano lounge has offered open-mic nights and live performances by its own talented staff, located in between Le Thai and Beauty Bar.
New filed paperwork specifically uses the phrase “relocating” to describe the transfer into suite 167. The space will also add a 150-square-foot patio on the Neonopolis ground-floor courtyard.
Current plans call for 16 seats at the bar, tables and chairs in the main room, and a piano as the main fixture on the corner stage. The evening’s entertainment will continue the venue’s existing program and also invite professional guest performers.
No timetable for construction has been revealed. The news follows word of permits filed earlier this year to build the Cat’s Meow and OD’s karaoke bars on the Neonopolis second floor, creating an additional 17,00 square feet of live vocal attractions.
