The 1960s British Invasion will be well represented at Los Angeles-based Houston Hospitality’s On the Record nightclub, a final piece of the puzzle to debut at the Park MGM later this year.
As promised, creators and twin brothers, Mark and Jonnie Houston have now installed a symbol of Swinging Sixties London, a red 1963 Bristol Lodekka double-decker bus that will serve as the DJ booth out on patio.
Promoting a launch on New Year’s Eve, guests can first try out the the 11,000-square-foot combination speakeasy, cocktail lounge, club, and karaoke bar beginning Dec. 28.
Hidden behind a mock record store shopfront off the casino floor, On the Record will host The Living Room, The Record Parlor, private rooms, and the main gathering space, with a soundtrack curated from five decades of music, but placing extra emphasis on the ’80s and ’90s.
Still on track to debut before the end of the year, Best Friend, the first Las Vegas expansion from Roy Choi, the pan-Asian menu of La La Noodle, and the long-awaited arrival of Eataly.
