The ongoing overhaul of the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas has turned its attention to one of the original attractions that debuted with the resort in 2010.
Plans have been filed for a “complete interior demolition” of the cocktail lounge and gaming bar Bond, located in a prime location at the casino floor’s northern entrance.
For its initial complete removal, an estimated budget of $125,000 has been allocated, followed by the building of a new, unnamed “spec bar,” to transform the space with an estimated construction budget of $1.8 million.
The makeover is yet to be announced and a projected start or finish date have not been revealed. It is unknown if the new space will return to its original name.
A flashy and glitzy first impression for pedestrians entering from the Strip, Bond currently still sits across from the 24-hour American menu at The Henry and is also open until the early morning. The lounge offers wide open views of Las Vegas Boulevard, video gaming on the bar top, regularly scheduled DJs and occasional appearances by go-go dancers.
