Keeping a local tradition of graduating from a simple base at the the westside’s Campus Commons Food Court to a bricks-and-mortar second home, Mother Falafel will soon be opening its own, independent restaurant, six miles to the south.
The new location is importing the popular, casual Mediterranean choices and will move into the former Soulfish Poke and recently shuttered Rotisserie Chicken space at the Rainbow Sunset Pavilion retail hub, its closure perhaps a victim of operating within a few feet of Bonchon Chicken.
Located at 6375 S. Rainbow Blvd., Mother Falafel is previewing a future menu of “handmade wraps and pitas made on the spot,” including chicken shawarma pita pockets, wraps, and plates, combo meals served with fries and a drink, and vegan falafel selections.
The restaurant is also continuing the bonus of a free birthday meal when confirmed with an ID. The original site will continue to operate its window service and 24-hour drive-thru.
