Another new arrival to a must-visit dining section of Spring Mountain Road, Chanko Shabu & Bar has debuted its “authentic Japanese hot pot & bar” in an early test mode ahead of a grand opening.
Already home to Chatime, Hobak Korean BBQ, the Tokyo-style menu of Ramen Hashi and Gäbi Coffee & Bakery at the Mountain Point Business Park, Chanko continues the pattern of stylish interiors set by its predecessors, and has created an experience it describes as “exotic & luxury.”
The menu focuses on three different types of preparation; the steam cooked seiro mushi, the slow-cooked sukiyaki, and its shabu-shabu hot pots.
The $26 wagyu short rib, $23 prime rib-eye steak, and $19 “muji fuji pork” are all steamed on wood trays table side. Shabu-shabu choices include vegetables, spicy miso pork, or garlic pork broth with the option of meat or vegetarian ingredients and the sukiyaki selection is currently a $27 prime rib-eye steak.
The restaurant also offers $5 tempura or gyoza appetizers and $3.50 strawberry or matcha shaved ice for dessert.
Chanko Shabu & Bar, 5808 Spring Mountain Road, Suite 103; 702-445-6665. Open daily from 5 to 11 p.m.
