Ambitious plans to transform an empty lot in Centennial Hills appear to have locked in a drinking and dining anchor for the new retail center.
Proposals have been filed to build a 3,347-square-foot McFadden’s tavern at the under-construction Durango Beltway Plaza, tucked behind the Montecito Crossing retail hub and located at the intersection of Rome Boulevard and Riley Street.
The coast-to-coast McFadden’s Restaurant & Saloon chain debuted in Manhattan in 1977 and arrived at Town Square in 2013. Featuring a sports bar atmosphere, with popular happy hour deals, and a full pub grub menu, if the tavern makes the move to the northwest it will also apply for a gaming license.
Future neighbors on the lot will include a huge EOS Health Club, a collection of retailers, and an auto repair shop.
Yet to make its way to the City Council for final approvals, the project sits very close to a residential neighborhood. At Town Square, the saloon closes at 2 a.m. and stays open until 4 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
