LA-based chef Roy Choi gets ready to open his new restaurant at the Park MGM by previewing some of the Korean barbecue he plans to serve. On Wednesday, Dec. 5, Choi heads to Facebook Live at noon to put together a cooking demonstration that showcases of few of the dishes he plans to serve.
So far, Choi has kept fairly quiet about the menu at Best Friend, occasionally teasing a dish on Instagram, but no official lineup has come out yet.
In the past, Choi hinted that the core of the menu focuses on braising and barbecuing, noting dishes such as a tamarind cod with noodles and a braised spicy chicken from Korea.

Diners enter the restaurant through what Choi calls the Liquor Store, his nod to a bar. Snacks, fuzzy white bar stools, and, of course, Best Friend merch make an appearance here. The bar serves fuzzy navels and piña coladas, along with fresh-pressed juices and boozy yard sticks of cocktails. A video tunnel leads customers to the entrance to the restaurant.
Best Friend plans to open on Dec. 19, as Choi tells fans via billboards spotted across the city.
